Beyond Pink Stripes

Random musings, stories, snapshots, and reviews from the "little" girl with several abandoned blogs who suddenly finds herself inspired to scribble once again after coming into her senses and realizing that there's more to LIFE than PINK STRIPES.☺

Youngestus Spinsterus: A Retro Post

At the height of Harry Potter craze, I made a spell for myself which I published on my first ever, and now hidden, blog. And this is how it goes:

I ain't elaborating on what prompted me to create such "spell" but I guess it's pretty much obvious. Go figure.:D

What the hell was I thinking then?!!! With no antidote at hand, it's good that the spell didn't have any effect on me LOOOOOOOL.:D

Anyway, I posted this just for laughs. No, I don't have anything against spinsters but the thought of self-targeted enchantment is simply amusing!:D

Surprise Post for the Hubby on His Birthday.:)

Today is the birthday of my ONE TRUE LOVE aka THE HUBBY.

Though the 16th of February is almost over, with him successfully withstanding my almost nonstop reference to the fact that his age is officially out of the calendar (I am such a bully hahahaha!), little does he know that a surprise still awaits him.

Now that I have finally sneaked up on him, it's time to put up this "Surprise Post".:)

Excuse me for the mushiness though. Those who cannot withstand cheesy stuff, you may stop reading here. ^^

I just want to proclaim to the whole world how much I love love love my husband. He may never be Mr. Perfect (yes, there are a lot of things about him that I absolutely dislike) but he would always be Mr. Right for me - the one whom God has prepared for me since the beginning of the world, the one who complements my being.

I still have a lot of things to say about the Hubby, our relationship and how my heart is filled with gladness every time the thought of being married to him crosses my mind. But I have decided to cut this post short to avoid getting caught by him and then spoiling the surprise hahaha!

Anyway, I have written a short verse dedicated to the Hubby and I believe it somehow puts in a nutshell how I feel about him.:)

DONALD
by goldabidz

At first, Love was just a song echoing without sound
Hushed yet eagerly awaiting to be heard, to be found
Then you came along, our hearts started beating as one
Sweet music finally played, the silence was gone.

Happy Birthday DONALD, my ONE TRUE LOVE.<3

Heartbreak Scare: Of Halloween and Love: A Retro Post

Exactly 5 years ago, I posted this. And now, all I want to do is travel back time and scold my younger self for entertaining such thoughts. It's so mushy to the point of being yucky LOL!:)

Anyway, the guy being referred to in this post is actually my Hubby now. The relationship is, of course, not perfect but it's definitely far from "doomsville".

Please share with me the agony of revisiting this post haha. Let's look back to this day, at this time, 5 years ago.

Oh well, so much for being mushy and for Halloween! After all, there are more significant celebrations in the Philippines that come after the 31st of October --- All Saints Day (November 1) which honors saints and their inspiring transcendence to holiness despite being sinners themselves and of course, All Souls Day (November 2) which commemorates the beloved departed.:)

Unrequited Love and Impacted Wisdom Tooth: A Retro Post

UNREQUITED LOVE and IMPACTED WISDOM TOOTH
"Unrequited love is like an impacted wisdom tooth. Its growth is inevitable, forcefully pushing its way to the surface in order to get exposed. But there's simply no room for it, no proper place for it to fully erupt. And then it gets so painful and when the suffering becomes intense and recurring, one is left with no choice but to extract it out of the system." - goldabidz, Dec. 21, 2008, www.goldabidz.blogspot.com

Just to note, I was not heartbroken when I created this "quotable quote". LOL. I just thought of this analogy while suffering from extreme pain brought about by my impacted wisdom tooth. But it makes sense, right?:D

Which would you rather experience - Unrequited love or Impacted Wisdom Tooth?:)
